Br. Donnell Neary, FMS
50th Anniversary of Being a Marist Brother
Br. Donnell Neary entered the Marist Brothers Novitiate in 1968 and professed his first vows in 1969. He began his teaching career at Marist High School in Chicago in 1969. He also served as a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Poughkeepsie, NY, (1973-74) at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA (1973-82), at Marist High School, Chicago (1982-89, 2011 - 16), at St. Agnes High School in NY, NY (1991-96), as a councilor at Mt. St. Michael Academy, Bronx, NY (1998-2000) and as CEO at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Poughkeepsie, NY, (1996-98). He also served the Marist Brothers as Provincial (2000-2003), Secretary to the Superior General in Rome (2003-2009) and currently serves as part of the staff of the Marist Brothers Retreat Center in Esopus, NY.
He earned a BA degree in Modern Language from Scranton University in 1968, an Med in Language Arts from Northeastern University in 1976 and an Advanced Degree in Administration from Manhattan College in 2000.
He professed his Final Vows in 1974.
