Br. James Halliday entered the Marist Brothers Novitiate in 1968 and professed his first vows in 1969. After completing a BA in History at Wheeling Jesuit University in 1972, he began his teaching career at Marist High School in Eugene, OR. He also served as a teacher and councilor at St. Elizabeth High School in Oakland, CA (1987 – 90) and at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA (1990- present), He has served for many summers as a member of the Staff of Camp Marist in NH.

He earned an MSin Guidance from Fordham University in 1976 and professed his Final Vows in 1974.
