Brother Fabian Mayor, FMS



Br. Fabian Mayor entered the Marist Novitiate in 1957 and professed his First Vows on July 26, 1958. After completing a BA in History at Marist College, he began his teaching career at St. Joseph High School in Lowell, MA.  He professed his Final vows on July 11, 1963.

Brother Fabian earned an MA in History from St. John’s University in 1969, and went on to earn further graduate degrees in Computer Science from Dade Community College in 2000, and another in Global Studies from Florida International University in 2000. He had a distinguished career as a teacher at the following schools: Wheeling Central Catholic HS, Marist HS in Eugene, OR, Bishop Dubois HS in NYC, Marist HS in Chicago, Marist International HS in Kobe, Japan, Fr. Duanas HS in Guam, Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, and Mt. St. Michael Academy in Bronx, NY. He also served as Deputy Principal of Christopher Columbus High School in Miami and as a social animator of Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence, MA. He is now retired and living at Champagnat Hall in the Bronx, NY.
