Comunidad Juan Diego, is one of twelve newly established Marist International Communities around the world. Each one of these new communities has been created to serve those on the peripherals of our world and each community consists of Marist Brothers and Lay Marists living and working together to be a witness of presence and hope to the “most neglected”.
Comunidad Juan Diego is located in East Harlem, NY and serves as a community outreach organization for Latin American Immigrants in the area. During Pope Francis’ historic visit to NYC last year, the community of East Harlem was chosen as one of the places that the Pope visited. The Comunidad Juan Diego community members are Br. James McKnight (USA), Br. Santos Garcia-Garcia (Equador), Br. Luis Vega Saguier (Paraguay) and Mr. Bruno Socher (Brasil)
