Two Marist College Graduates Aim to Bring Clean Water Resources to Malawi and Cambodia

Mike Duffy and John Herman, two recent Marist College graduates, are currently making a trek across Asia. Their goal is to raise funds for wells in rural Malawian villages as well as BioSand filters to donate to families and schools in Cambodia. Prior to this journey, Mike spent ten weeks volunteering at the Marist Brothers School for Handicapped Children outside of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The purpose of their journey: To bring sustainable solutions and provide improved sources of fresh water to communities where there is no access; to break the cycle of poverty and disease. In order to reach their goal they will be completing 15 Ironman Triathlons through Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam in an effort to bring awareness and change to the world’s water crisis.
