Spring Vocation Pilgrimage

This year six students from the University of Texas participated in the University Catholic Center’s Vocation Pilgrimage ’22. The experience is offered to students who would like to learn more about Consecrated Life as part of their vocational discernment.

Brother Rob Clark accompanied the pilgrims in their visits to: the Province Center in Forest Hills, our community at St. Barnabas, tutoring at The Mount, journeying into the city with Br. Brian for the annual “Nocturnal NYC Tour” (getting home at 2:00am!), joining in the festivities at the Marist Youth Gathering in Esopus, praying and dining with the Brothers in the Berchman Community, and finally spending Memorial Day in our Novitiate for a cookout, a tour of the Marist College campus, and some time with our Novices Dittus and Ryan.

The young men deeply appreciated the warm Marist welcome and hospitality throughout their 10 day journey. The times of prayer, story-telling, relaxing, and sharing meals gave the pilgrims a glimpse into Marist life. As they were leaving to return to Texas, one of the men commented “I’m really feeling sad leaving the Brothers.”
