Marist High School Chicago Senior Girls Kairos Retreat: 11/15 – 11/18
Last week, a group of 42 senior girls from Marist High School in Chicago participated in a Kairos Retreat. The Kairos program is a four-day program that has been enjoyed by students in Catholic High Schools around the country since the late 1960’s. It is designed to help the students take an in-depth look at their respect for themselves, their relationships with those around them, and their relationship with God. Throughout the three days, the girls focused on talks, discussions, prayer, and reflection. Kairos provides an opportunity for students to develop greater trust in themselves and others while building a stronger relationship with God.
This Kairos trip was led by Campus Minister Colleen Pochyly and run by a team of 10 Marist Faculty members and students who have already experienced Kairos. Matt Fallon, the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Marist Brothers USA Province was also in attendance, and this marked his first Kairos experience.
